The authors of the CryptoPunks NFT project, Larva Labs (LL), have recently erased all of their Tweets. What happened, and why did it happen? The reason, it turns out, is rather straightforward.

All of Larva Labs’ Tweets have been removed.

Since Yuga Labs purchased Larva Labs’ CryptoPunks and Meebits collections, there’s no need for LL to maintain tweeting on its original Twitter account. The majority of the Tweets have since been redirected to @cryptopunksnfts. Matt and John, the founders of LL, continued to tweet as @larvalabs.

However, based on the comments, Twitter user @Pauly0x believes that Larva Labs’ decision to remove all of the Tweets is important. However, that is a genuine worry. After all, after selling CryptoPunks and Meebits NFT IP to Yuga Labs, Larva Labs stated that they will be focusing on other Web3 projects. As a result, making themselves completely invisible from Twitter is illogical.

What is the location of the original Larva Labs Tweets?

However, if you want to find the original Tweets, search for @swissdegen on Twitter. He claims to have a comprehensive backup of all Larva Labs Tweets going back to the year 2017. Wow, that’s a real old collection!

Unfortunately, nobody seems to care if Larva Labs removed their Tweets or not. According to Yuga Labs, NFT holders of CryptoPunks and Meebits collections would be granted complete commercial rights. That alone was enough to persuade NFT holders to swap sides to Yuga Labs.

Larva Labs, on the other hand, has been in the NFT field for four years. The NFT behemoth has had its fair share of ups and downs in the world of NFTs, including the creation of CryptoPunks, one of the most iconic OG NFT initiatives. Who knows, maybe we’ll see more outstanding work from the Larva Labs team in the future?
